Grendon Lakes Glamping in Northamptonshire.
If you are looking for a Glamping site in Northamptonshire, you have come to the right place. This place has been a well kept secret amongst my family members and has played a role in many of our family celebrations. From Stag do’s to Hen Do’s to Birthdays, Grendon Lakes holds many of my favourite memories with some extremely special people.
We used to camp at Grendon Lakes, pitching up tents and hiding under gazebos in case we were greeted by british weather however, as more and more of our loved ones became interested in attending, we moved over to The Village. Think Summer Evenings drinking Prosecco with your loved ones, music lingering in the background whilst the little ones run around the field with water pistols and damp hair. Your partner is prepping the BBQ in readiness for tonight’s meal whilst all your friends chip in to help set the table. The fire is roaring before the sun begins to set and you realise that you are surrounded by all the people you care about most. This is the magic of Grendon Lakes.
This beautiful place has become an annual tradition for me and my family. With the location just under an hour away from our home, we head over on the Friday Evening before returning Sunday Afternoon. The perfect little getaway (without having to take any annual leave from work). Let me show you around.
This post is all about glamping northamptonshire where you too can make many memories with your loved ones this summer.

As previously discussed, Grendon’s Camping site used to be our old stomping ground (and still something I love to do!) however, the Village made more sense as our group got bigger and bigger. Family members started to have little ones and we essentially outgrew the space.
Once I showed my mum the Village, there was no going back. More space, more privacy and most importantly, a nice area to sit back and relax with the family without the fear of annoying other campers.
Say goodbye to pitching up a tent and waking up in damp sleeping bags.
In life, it's not where you go, it's who you travel with.
The Yurts / Bell Tents
Each village is equipped with 3 large bell tents which can accommodate a total of 15 people.
Extra bell tents can be added if required (at an extra cost of £200 per tent) and you also have the option to bring 5 extra units such as caravans, camper vans or small tents free of charge.
Each tent is equipped with everything you need for the weekend. The camp provides you with 5 single beds, duvets, pillows, cushions, throws, bunting, lanterns & rugs.
Although I would take this type of luxury any day over a damp sleeping bag and an uncomfortable nights sleep, it can get cold through out the night so I would highly recommend bringing extra blankets, onesies and hot water bottles to keep you warm. (I woke up a few times in the night, shivering and looking for further blankets for warmth).
The Village at Grendon Lakes
The village itself is equipped with the cutlery, crockery, mugs, glasses, cooking pots and pans, utensils, campfire, seating, fridge and BBQ.
All you need is food and drink for your stay and you’re good to go.
I personally recommend bringing food coolers if you are a big group as the fridge space can be taken up pretty quickly with so people trying to freeze all the meat for the BBQ. We also packed a slow cooker one evening which worked a treat.
Tip: - Request the Village right at the back for a more secluded space than the other sites. This allows your little ones to roam more freely (although still not closed off so you would still need to keep an eye on them depending on their age!)
A portaloo is also on site when required, however, a lot of us walk over to toilet cubicles. The main club house also has nicer toilets (with less spiders) and shower cubicles just a short 5-10 minute walk away.
With the option to purchase a sports hamper for £50.00 (providing you with rounders, badminton, tug of war, football, frisbees and more), we decided to purchase our own to re-use when we come back next year.
My mum made her very own 'goody bags' for the little ones, filled with sweets, bubbles, colouring books and pens which was perfect for their first evening.
You can always make money, you can't always make more memories.
Once bags were unpacked, food was stacked high in the fridge and we all had a drink in hand, we sang Happy Birthday to my beautiful mum and a family friend who was turning 44.
Before devouring my nan’s homemade coffee cake.
Together, we watched the sun go down, spoke to one another around the camp fire and enjoyed each others company, before taking ourselves to our yurts for our first night's sleep.
Mornings at the Lakes
The next morning was incredibly peaceful.
The little ones played together on the benches.
Friends decided to do some yoga in the fresh air.
And me, I was taking it all in with my morning cup of tea. Perfect.

As the day progressed, we ate, drank and relaxed in the sunshine.
The little ones played in the hot tub.
Some family members decided to go on a walk.
Whilst others decided to stay at the campsite and relax.
This is the best thing about Grendon Lakes. We all do what we want, when we want. There is no pressure to do anything but simply live in the moment.
Before long, we decided to play some games.
We purchased the classic sports day games: the egg and spoon race, the three legged race and the sack race (Mainly for the little ones, but lets be honest, we all love sports games).
We also joined in for a competitive game of rounders...
...Before firing up the BBQ for a well deserved meal.
We didn't need to leave the campsite until 12pm the following morning, allowing us all enough time to have our morning coffee (or tea in my case), pack up our things, and have a quick natter before heading our separate ways.
We've already discussed our date for next year and I cannot wait to make even more memories in this beautiful place.
Until next time, Grendon.
