The Double Red Duke, Clanfield

The Double Red Duke in Clanfield was another one of my finds through the Mr and Mrs Smith website and once again, it was another destination which did not disappoint. I would go so far as to say it is one of my favourite hotel stays in the UK (yes, you heard that correctly!). From the pleasant and friendly staff, the beautiful designed rooms and incredible food - it had everything you would want in a getaway.

Nestled in the picturesque village of Clanfield, The Double Red Duke is a boutique hotel which opened back in June 2021, situated just 50 minutes from Oxford.

With beautifully designed rooms, friendly staff and incredible food - what more could you ask for? (Maybe some spa treatment‘s in a shepherds hut or watching the chef’s cook your meal?) Everything you could want, Double Red Duke have you covered.

Quick Information on the Hotel

How many rooms? The Double Red Duke holds 19 bedrooms including three family rooms.

Pet Friendly: Furry friends are welcome with bowls and beds £25 a night with two medium-sized dogs being able to stay in a room at any one time. However, dogs can only be accommodated in five specific rooms and therefore you will need to contact the hotel in advance.

Check in/Check Out: Check in from 3pm and Check out by 11am.
Both times are flexible subject to availability and a charge that ranges from £30-£50.

Dress Code: No Dress code. Come however you feel comfortable.

Parking: There is limited parking spaces on site, allocated on first come first basis. Due to the carpark being full when we arrived, we parked outside Blake’s bakery on the side of the road.
