The Fish Hotel, Broadway.
If you are looking for beautiful UK weekend Getaway, you have come to the right place.
Tucked away on the 400-acre hillside Farncombe Estate, perched high above the village of Broadway, lies The Fish Hotel. Situated on the same estate as its two sister companies, Dormy House Hotel & Spa & Foxhill Manor.
The Fish Hotel has a boutique hotel as well as glamping experience on the estate (think treehouses and Shepherd huts), and is home to a seafood-inspired restaurant, 'The Hook', headed up by former two Michelin-Star chef, Martin Burge.
You will be surrounded by woodlands and the beautiful english countryside - the perfect haven for those who love the outdoors and personal touches dotted around the estate. Oh... and dog's are welcome.

The Hotel
Upon entry, you will be greeted at reception (however, it's easy to walk past and get confused about the process as there is no clear indication that this is your check-in station). Staff members will kindly guide you to the sofa's where they will get you all checked in and hand you your key. A very comfortable and informal experience to make you feel like you're right at home.
When booking a room at The Fish, you have a few options to choose from.
You can book a room or suite in the Outhouse, Coachhouse or Stables.
Or you can decide to go for a more of a glamping experience in one of the Luxury Hut's or treetop hideaways, (something I will definitely be adding to my bucket list).
We decided to book a room at The Stables.
Upon entry, you are immediately greeted by a pick 'n' mix wall, filled with jelly beans, pretzels, rhubarb and custards and lemon sherbets.
We happily grabbed a bag and helped ourselves to a few treats to take back to the room.

The Hotel constantly reminds you that it is a dog friendly hotel with 'Doggy Hydration Stations' dotted around the site....
.... and you may also locate a few wine dispensers, home to a selection of red, whites and rosé wine. All dispensers hold a different selection, so you will never get board of the ones on display.
In order to access, you will need a wine card which you can either add on to your package when purchasing your room, or request a card from reception. Credit is added to your card and you simply insert, press and go.
Perfect for a late night tipple.
The Room
The room itself did the job for what we needed it for. Nothing to write home about, just a bed to rest our head on with no added frills. The room includes a kettle and some tea-bags and we were kindly left a map of the site to help us get our bearings.
The Bar
Feeling a little peckish but still having a few hours until our dinner reservation, we decided to take a quick 2 minute walk to the bar.
We ordered our drinks and shared a pizza between us before heading back to the room to get ready for dinner.
I ran myself a bath, made myself a cup of tea and gave myself a mini pamper before heading to the on-site restaurant, Hook.

My friend decided to try Oysters for the first time.....
.... Whilst I went for the Sticky Char Sui Pork Belly.
and I must say, my steak was cooked perfectly.
Absolutely beautiful.
Full from our mains but not being able to resist dessert, we decided to share just the one between us.
The Chocolate Cremeux with Salt Caramel Ice Cream.
After dinner, we decided to head to the games room for a few games of scrabble, ordered a couple more drinks, before heading back to room for the night.
Morning at The Fish Hotel
Not being able to decide on the many options the hotel offers, I made myself a greek yoghurt with Granola and Raspberry compote from the breakfast table whilst also placing an order with the kitchen for the Full English breakfast.
Once our breakfast had settled in our stomachs and our bodies were able to move again, we took a small wonder around the site before deciding to head to the Boot Room.

and don't worry about your dog getting muddy.....
.... as there is 'dunk your dog' bath tub just outside reception and a boot wash to scrub down your wellies after your walk.
The Hotel is also children friendly and has a children's play zone on site....
....As well as a small dog agility course.
The Fish Hotel seems to have at all. A mini resort with everything you require at your finger tips without having to leave the site itself.
It is the perfect country escape, whether you are looking for a night away with the children, a date night with your partner or a dog friendly hotel, this place ticks all of the boxes for the perfect country getaway.
I will definitely be making a return trip to experience the 'Hilly Huts' so watch this space.
