Halloween Activities for Kids at Welford Christmas Farm
In the heart of Northamptonshire, the Welford Christmas Tree Farm becomes a Halloween destination like no other, where the magic of the season meets the spookiness of Halloween. Whether you're searching for the perfect pumpkin, braving the spooky hunt, or simply savoring the cozy atmosphere, this farm embodies the very essence of Halloween, leaving you with cherished memories to last a lifetime.
During the months of October, the Welford Christmas Tree Farm takes on a new, slightly eerie allure. The farm's vast fields, home to neatly lined rows of Christmas trees, now acts as a Maze for their Spooky Hunt - with skeletons and ghosts around every corner and puzzles for the little ones to solve.
Let me show you around. It wont be difficult to see why this has become one of my favourite family traditions.

What can you do at Welford Christmas Farm in October?
- Pick your Own Pumpkin Patch - The site has sledges and wheel barrows which allows you to carry your pumpkins around the site. There are hundreds dotted around the site as well as their designated pumpkin patch with loads of shapes, sizes and colours for your little ones to choose from. No booking is required.
- Spooky Hunt - The highlight of the visit has to be The Spooky Hunt. Our little ones absolutely loved it. Booking is required and prices are above.
- Fancy Dress - Your little ones are encouraged to fancy dress around the farm (and the adults if they choose to!)
- Tipi café - Head to the Tipi Cafe for your hot drinks, homemade cakes and toasting marshmallows around their firepit. A nice little pit stop to warm up those hands.
- Play Area - play in an enclosed paddock with straw bale stack and giant games.
- Halloween Shop - Head to the sites shop for gifts and decorations for sale.
- Piggies - Welford Christmas Tree Farm have pet pigs who will be on site.
- Goats - Apparently, they also have pet goats! I didn’t see them last year but apparently they will be around for 2023.
Welford Christmas Farm is on the border between Northamptonshire and Leicestershire, just off junction 1 of the A14, two miles south of Welford village on the A5199. Signposted off the A5199 towards Welford just after the entrance to the truck stop.

Pick up your activity sheet before heading into the Maze, ensuring you are looking out for clues as you go.
As you weave around the Christmas trees, you’ll come across spooky encounters and clues dotted around the site.
Anagrams and Questions are to be solved by the little ones whilst the quiz also asks you to pumpkin count at each station.
Arts & Crafts Station
There is a mini arts and crafts station for your little ones to play. Last year, the station had pegs out on the table with decorations to design your own little person.
Pumpkin Picking
Pumpkin Crates are dotted around the site as well as the designated Pumpkin Patch.
Use the Wheel Barrows dotted around the site to help you and your little ones pick up your favourites and use it take those heavy ones back to the car.
The Tipi Hut
Once the spooky hunt is complete and your Pumpkins are picked, head over to the tipi hut for cake, hot chocolate and toasting marshmallows over the fire pit.
It really is the perfect outing for your little ones this Halloween Season and I highly recommend you take a visit if your ever in the area.
If Halloween isn’t your thing, head back during the Christmas Season, it really is a beautiful little site and one your little ones will love.
